Awarded a Joseph Jefferson Wings Citation Award almost twenty years ago, Robert Ian Winstin's stunning 'Oedipus Requiem' is finally realized here in the full recording featuring the famed Kiev Philharmonic, the Chamber Choir Kyiv and vocal soloists with the composer conducting the recording. The re-srtyled score was premiered at the 2007 International Music Festival in Kiev in a LIVE! television performance from Tchaikovsky Hall, again with the composer conducting. An additional aspect to this recording uses the 'Greek Chorus' (spoken text) from the original cast recording made almost 20 years ago - putting the old elements and the new elements together. This is a stunning recording of a remarkable work.
