'The Works' is a slowly developing piece in which space and ambient tape are eventually overtaken by raga-esque chanting and frenetic piano playing. Synthesizer washes become full-on workouts, leading to a coda which makes the listener feel like being carried off on the wheels of the Berlin U-Bahn.
