Popis - BDI'S:
“The lead vocal is magic. This group has got soul!” - Dave Godin, Legendary Blues & Soul journalist The BDI’s began their musical career in the north-western town of Southport in the mid-nineties as The Panda Gang, forming from the ashes of various local bands. They attracted almost immediate attention from such luminaries as Jimmy Miller (legendary producer of The Rolling Stones and Traffic) who expressed an interest in working with the band after hearing their early demos. Unfortunately Miller died before any collaboration could take place. Fuelled by Miller’s belief, together with growing record company interest, the band relocated to London where they launched themselves on the capital’s live circuit, also honing their three part harmonies by busking throughout the West End. The band’s career finally took off in 1998 when they released their debut album ‘For A Rainy Day’ in Japan to ecstatic reviews. Lead track ‘Morning, Evening’ was a hit on Tokyo radio and the band were flown over to Japan where they received a tumultuous reception. Back in the UK, the band marked the new millennium by releasing their British debut single ‘Flipside’ on the highly respected Shifty Disco label. The band joined fellow Shifty Disco artists on a nationwide tour. 'Flipside' was followed by a string of highly acclaimed singles on the band’s own label BDI Recordings, attracting high profile supporters such as the legendary Blues & Soul journalist Dave Godin. By 2007 the band had completed a brand new 14 track album and having outgrown The Panda Gang moniker took the opportunity to rename themselves The BDI's. Their eponymous debut album was released in Japan on Grey Dog's Records in 2008 to widespread acclaim.
