The excellent second album from Marc Pilley & co. Their first record narrowly missed a Mercury music award and received 5 stars across the music press. Hobotalk's new album 'Alone Again Or', obviously named after the classic song by Arthur Lee's band Love, is a slight departure from the emotive singer songwriter template they're known & loved for. Indeed, this record has presence and loads of electric swagger. The first part of this record is aptly named 'The Electric Night', the second part 'The Acoustic Morn'. The music has elements of Buffalo Springfield, Beefheart, The Doors and -yes indeed- Love. Then the second side has all the songs we love to hear this band do - 'Under The Spell Of Love' being without a doubt one of Pilley's finest moments in this troubled mans career.
