Like her previous Jagjaguwar release, cleverly slated as "not quite country, not quite folk, not quite rock," her sound remains difficult to pigeonhole. The genre is rock, but with a strong dose of country throughout. Some songs veer towards punk, while others are melodic waltzes. This recording with her stripped-down band has a simple, natural sound.
