Nav-Vii (pronounced: Gnaw-Vee). A native of San Francisco, California, Nav-Vii’s musical journey kicked off in Atlanta, Georgia in 2005, and since that time he has made a big name for himself in the Trap and Electronica music scene. Over the last 10 years, Nav-Vii has groomed his Electronica, Hip-Hop, Trap style to perfection. As broad musically as an artist can be, Nav-Vii has several songs that show his appreciation of several different genres. If you listen carefully, you will hear many unique drum patterns and synthesizers that are simply paragon for modern Electronica Trap music. Throughout his latest album REVERB SEXY REVERB, you will hear a strong Electronica, Hip-Hop, Trap and Dubstep feel which is lyrically brilliant and very attention grabbing. In September 2008, Nav-Vii released album ALL THESE QUESTIONS which helped him become recognized as a very talented Electronica musician. In September 2009, the album TEMPLE OF ENVY clearly showed not only how talented Nav-Vii is as a producer, but how savvy he is lyrically. In June 2010, album THE WAIT OF THE WORLD was released. In April 2011, Nav-Vii released his album SUI GENERIS with a slightly new style. The new changes in SUI GENERIS definitely accentuated the traditional arrangements and instrumentation of Nav-Vii’s traditional sound and added more energy to the songs. In addition, these changes brought out the important elements in Nav-Vii’s musical style and lyrics. All of these adjustments propelled Nav-Vii’s album SUI GENERIS to a new height of popularity. Tracks like IT’S GOIN’ DOWN, SUI GENERIS and PLANET NV was enhanced with more hip hop influence than his previous songs, which is rarely heard from Electronica musicians. In June 2012, album ECHOES was released. In October 2013, album MIND MOVIE was released. Nav-Vii nicknamed MIND MOVIE the sexy project due to the more sensual lyrics throughout this album. In July 2014, Nav-Vii’s 7th album REVERB SEXY REVERB was initially reviewed as the perfect balance of excellent song writing and melodious hooks that keep listeners embedded into the music. A significant change was noticed with the release of Nav-Vii’s last 3 albums ECHOES, MIND MOVIE and REVERB SEXY REVERB, as more depth was added to the production and vocal effects. Only time will tell if Nav-Vii’s eclectic and innovative sound will be accepted into the mainstream music media. One thing is certain; we can expect many great things in the future from this Atlanta based talent.
