Ilya are songwriters and composers Joanna Swan and Nick Pullin. They are from Bristol and work from their studio in the woodland that surround the Avon Gorge in North Somerset. Ilya started work on their debut album in 2001 and They Died For Beauty was released on the Virgin label to massive critical acclaim; delivering the bands first flagship song ;Bellissimo’ ( which was and still is, used in worldwide advertising campaigns by Revlon and Cacharel). Ilya played live extensively throughout the UK and Europe during this period. ILYA have written songs and instrumentals for Revlon. Casheral, YSL, and Christian Dior as well as two independent feature length films, Born From The Foot and Telugu and a Bulgarian short film called Rabbit Troubles. Songs from their albums have appeared innumerable times on television around the world: (Six Feet Under, Nip and Tuck, The Chelsea Flower Show to name but a few) and Soleil Soleil from their first album was used in the Hollywood blockbuster Mr Brooks in 2007.
