Writhing Squares is the Philadelphia duo of Kevin Nickles (sax, flute, synth) and Daniel Provenzano (bass, vocals). They have been refining their sound over their previous two albums. 'Chart For The Solution' is a double album filled with progressive, psychedelic space-rock-cum-minimal synth slop, punctuated by MacKay/James Chance-style blasts of brass and woodwinds. Over the course of the album, the band utilize the extended format to stretch out and settle into a groove all of their own.
