Julia's bubbling 12-string guitar work, a more experimental kind of shoegaze, has moored a tactile, ever-lusher sound. 'Vanish' completes a trio of releases which begun with 'Brace, Brace', followed by 'In Real Life'. For all its poise, the album's sense of build - electric licks rasping into glistening synths, punctured by distant kicks - sounds surprisingly fresh in two long tracks.
