Klosterbrüder was a rock band from the GDR that was founded in the mid-'60s. The political circumstances of the times prevented the group from releasing records, until the name - due to 'some pressure' from the authorities - was changed into Magdeburg (the members' hometown). This resulted in the release of the band's sole album, which was issued in 1980. Now collected on this CD are the band's heavy prog rock recordings from the '70s plus material that was taped by a reunited line-up that was active in (former) West Germany after 1990.
