Reversing back into the future with Psychedelic Rock, Raw Blues and a touch of Romance: just when the music is getting too close to violence the band seduces with sexy sounds. Sounds that could take you back to 'Electric Ladyland'. Musical', 'courageous', 'virtuoso', 'pure', 'a style of their own' were some of the praising words that were thrown at 'Alternative Blues-rock' trio in editorial and reviews over the last twelve months. The Sean Walsh Band ROCKS! One smells the scent of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Who, a whiff of psychedelics, but also the raw tang of Rory Gallagher's blues! For the tracking of the 'timetravellersexmachine' album, which is slated for October 3, 2008, the Sean Walsh Band got locked up in the Velvet Overlook studios in their hometown of Tilburg in Burgundian Brabant. A sweaty quest started for sounds and pedigree. Less common instruments were put to the test. Bassist Kai Liebrand was caught behind the Hammond. He even left the studio for a while to get taped playing church organ at a neighboring place of worship. Liebrand: 'Really cool, that's the instrument I started with on a way forgotten day. Neat to now weave that skill artistically into rock 'n roll!' Since we've also used extra-ordinary instruments like the kazoo, the accordion, a glockenspiel and vintage synths, while at the same time trying to push the studio envelop to its limits, we set down something very special!' The Sean Walsh Band devoted hours, sometimes days, to the smallest little details. 'We entered the studio pretty much without any preparation', according to drummer Edwin van der Burgt, 'That was diametrically opposed to anything I have been used to. I was more than skeptic about it, but at the same time it got me excited. I know many of our heroes of the seventies did it that way, but it really puts on stress. And you need to be able to perform under pressure! Eventually it did work to our advantage because of the chemistry between the three of us.' Singer and guitarist Seán Walsh: 'If you really have to rely for an extended period of time on your fellow band members, a lot of new issues come into play. In our case fortunately most always positive. And we did anything we could to catch that great vibe on tape. Dazzling but hard! At some stage we were going through studio days from ten A.M. to one A.M.' 'But we partied a lot, too. If you're sitting so closely on each other's bum for so long you need to release your energy from time to time other than through music!'
