In the discotheques where youngsters danced to the British and American pop hits of the day and to Spanish big local acts, at midnight the DJs used to play Peret's rumba records with great success. Even though he took some time off in the eighties when he joined the Evangelic Church of Philadelphia, he came back in the nineties and remained successfully active until his death in 2014.
