Recorded in 1961, here reissued on 180-GRAM, 'Grantstand' was
Grant Green's third album for Blue Note. It's an excellent
soulful and groovy session with Green leading an uncommon line-
up consisting of Yusef Lateef (tenor saxophone, flute), Brother
Jack McDuff (organ), Al Harewood (drums) and Ben Tucker (bass).
Green's guitar tone matches perfectly with Jack Mcduff's organ
sound and Lateef's warm tenor saxophone voice. This is swinging
bop-tinged soul-jazz of the highest order! This edition adds two bonus tracks (from the same sessions) and is presented with a gatefold sleeve.
