Popis - PAPER MEMORIES:
PAPER MEMORIES IS ON SALE FOR $10.99! Samantha Mooney has the ability to write beautiful songs, that many a listener still hears in their sleep. They have been described as unique and memorable, with glimpses of the authors own experiences layered within. Add to this her simply beautiful vocals and 'Paper Memories' becomes an album that is always a pleasure to play. A very talented singer, with gorgeous, easy-to-listen-to vocals, Samantha has performed to admiring audiences for many years at venues that include the 6 star Versace Hotel on the Gold Coast in Australia. She has been compared to the likes of Anne Murray, Olivia Newton John, Karen Carpenter and KD Lang to name a few, but still has her own individual quality that leaves the listener craving for more. Her creative side surfaced once the novelty of singing covers wore off and the nagging urge to write her own songs would not subside. Samantha has received 3rd place for two years running in the prestigious Australian Songwriters Association National Songwriting competition for 'Love of my Life' and the title track 'Paper Memories' and also a fifth placing for 'Something Real'. Her debut album 'Paper Memories' explores the themes of love found, new beginnings, missed chances and rediscovering the simple things in life. Many of these songs allow the listener to delve into their emotions, yet still end up tapping their feet, all the while taking in the soothing tones of Samantha's effortless vocals. Vocal talent runs throughout Samanthas family. As a young child it was evident that her beautiful voice simply came naturally and she would follow in the footsteps of her father, uncles and Grandfather. Her father Kevin Jolley performed weeknights on the Graeme Kennedy show in Melbourne Australia, along with Uncles from both sides of the family. Her love of performing saw her take to the stage as an 8 year old girl with a rendition of The Carpenters 'On Top of the World'. She fell in love with the applause and continued to sing beyond her school years in various bands on the Gold Coast in Queensland. She met her future husband Brett Mooney when auditioning for a duo and the two have performed as 'Scorpio' for many years at prestigious events and locations on the Gold Coast. Her love of singing has led to an even greater love for songwriting. Now halfway through her second album, Samantha has been working with producer Louie Shelton who is well known for his signature guitar riffs in songs such as 'Last Train to Clarksville' by The Monkees, 'Hello' by Lionel Ritchie and 'Play Me' by Neil Diamond to name a few. He has also produced albums for Art Garfunkel, Seals and Crofts and many others. Look out for Samanthas new album soon!
