On vinyl, 'Jassbusters' is the third album in five years by R&B surrealist Connan Mockasin. It's an unclassifiable, unconventional work that neither picks up from nor abandons the modes of 2013's widely-embraced 'Caramel', or its 2010 predecessor 'Forever Dolphin Love'. Instead, 'Jassbusters' foreshadows a five-part melodrama film titled 'Bostyn 'N Dobsyn'. This work basically soundtracks the unpredictable narrative of that film in eclectic, electric ways.
