Brazilian import. Vinyl reissue of an impressive psych/art-rock
LP from Brazil's '70s scene. Secos & Molhados was formed in
1971 by androgynous vocalist Ney Matogrosso (who'd later become
a successful solo-artist) and composers-musicians Gerson Conrad
and Joao Ricardo. This is their second s/t album, originally dating from 1974. The inventive songwriting combines psychedelic rock and pop (still slightly under the influence of the late '60s Tropicalia movement) with theatrical elements and lots of imagination. A superb release! The band released a string of LP's during the '70s and '80s of which the first pair is essential for anyone into the music of f.i. Os Mutantes, (early) Caetano Veloso and Tom Zé, Som Imaginario and Ronnie Von.
