Popis - SEIS CANCIONES PARA..:
Marco Serrato is known for his projects Orthodox, Jacob and Hidden Forces Trio. A restless and eclectic musician in whose gallery of heroes we would find Quorthon or Glenn Danzig, also sharing place with Messiaen or Mingus. Experienced in the metal scene, he did not hesitate it in starting his late studies in classical music, combining them with many kind of projects. His varied career has taken him to do collaborations with different sorts of musicians, from flamenco dancer Israel Galván or musician and writer Julian Cope, to saxophonist Ricardo Tejero. Not to mention sporadic collaborations with bands like Ursula, Zinvmm and Tentudía. His broad discography is shared out amongst labels like Southern Lord, Utech Records, Bruce's Fingers and Knockturne Records. In 2013 Taauru (Knockturne Records) was his solo debut, a cassette tape that includes home-made improvs where Marco gave free rein to influences from musicians like Keiji Haino, Derek Bailey and Mats Gustafsson.
Now he appears with his first album, 'Seis Canciones Para Cuervo'. In 'Seis Canciones Para Cuervo', Serrato deals with an unclassifiable, hermetic and personal work inspired by poet Ted Hughes words and recent personal experiences, the double bass being the undisputed focus. Six acoustic compositions that take us to a dismal journey that is not without some black humour. Recorded by Raúl Pérez at La Mina studios (Pylar, Viento Smith, Ursula, Pony Bravo...).
