Leaving behind the satire, irony and kraut-extravaganza, Astrakhan's VESPERO created an impressive lyrical work inspired by visions of their homeland. Stylistically, "Droga" (from Italian: herb, spice, fragrant, drug, etc.) marked a distinct shift to the progressive rock area. This is all instrumental eclectic prog-rock with traces of Southern Russia's ethnic music and jazz-fusion, though the presence of space-kraut-psychedelic elements is still very strong. Whatever you label it, this is an astonishing musical journey through time and space which lovers of modern instrumental rock will enjoy. The CD (9 tracks, 73 minutes) is housed in a thick rough cardboard folder with silkprinted artwork.
