The CD is not just beautiful to listen to but certainly also invites you to sing along! Music was part of my life always since I was a little child, my father was a professional classical musician as well as a jazz musician in his early years and there was a lot of singing going on in our house, I consider that a great gift. The music of the CD 'Royal Swan' was born during the past 7 or 8 years, while being on a journey into the soul, inspired by living spiritual masters and teachers. This journey began in my twenties and continues to this day. The title of the CD is named after an Indian master, Hansraj, whose name means 'royal swan', a man who has been a blessing to this world. The Swan also stands symbol for dedication and commitment and is the bird symbolically used to carry us to the other shore, the shore of enlightenment. The texts on the CD are mostly mantra's, sanskrit words from India, Tibet and also some mantra's from Europe and the Middle East. `The title song is an English ballad, written and composed while sitting near the holy river the Ganges in Rishikesh, India. 'Mantra' means that which brings us out of the thinking box into our heart, our soul; singing mantra's or listening to them can create a deep relaxation, healing and knowingness that we are not an island, but that through our humanness and by opening our hearts, we are able to feel something that is bigger then our personality: a unified field of love, light, awareness and oneness. For me music and singing are a very direct way into the heart. The Cd uses many acoustic instruments, which I love. A lot of people who heard the CD so far, enjoy the musicality of it, the diverse instruments, the arrangements and choices of instruments on the different songs, and of course the vocals. The female voices including all harmonies are sung by myself. On track number six, Om Mata Kali, I invited two other women to come and sing with me, a song about powerful female deities and it felt good to sing this powerful song with women only. The other vocalists are two men, I love their deep low and vibrant voices which counterbalance the feminine voice so wonderfully. The CD was released beginning of May 2011 and has since received several beautiful reviews in spiritual magazines in the Netherlands (De Koordanser and Vakblad voor de Natuurgeneeskundige) From people who buy the Cd, I have received heartfelt reports: 'The music has helped me through an incredible difficult time' 'I do yoga on your music every morning and I feel I can start my day in such an elevated state of being' 'I just cannot get enough of this CD, I play it every day and night!' 'My friend was dying and listening to your music, she became very accepting, calm and balanced, we will now play your music on her funeral' ' The Om Tare song makes me dance, it is so joyful' 'I just feel transported into another dimension by listening to the songs' 'The music on this CD is almost like a symphony, so rich in the arrangements, the creativity, the use of your voices and the wonderful acoustic instruments' 'I love singing with your music and thank you for putting a booklet with the texts in your CD, so I understand what I am singing!!' 'I play your music for my Alzheimer patients and they become so serene and calm.' 'My children love your music, they dance to it and sing along.' My intention with making music, offering concerts and producing the Cd is to inspire joy, healing and upliftment, happiness, I love to share the joy that I am feeling whiie making music with the people I meet. The feedback I have gotten so far makes me feel very grateful, because my intention is being fulfilled. Also, recently I have started to sing for and with children, a very inspiring and joyful audience. I sponsor children and I wish to participate in projects - or even start one! - where children are inspired to grow up in freedom, living their creative potential, so they may fulfill their highest capacities. Music is one way to help kids discover themselves. By buying the music, you help that dream come true. I truly hope that my music will be giving you what you need, will be inspiring on your journey through life. Wishing you a wonderful, creative and loving life. Sadhya www.sadhyalive.nl
