HYPERION is a project by the french multi-instrumentist Olivier FRECHE, inspired by Dan SIMMONS' famous science fiction novel. Helped by several musicians on violins, cello and double bass, drums, sax, Tabla, he composed ten instrumental pieces full of
eclectism. A lot of sound effects create a dreamlike atmosphere, and the inspiration can be symphonic, heavy, electro, ethnic... Often hypnotic, slow, it recalls sometimes King Crimson, but it's overall personal, surprising and new, with intense and acid guitar playing.
