Montreal's Chthe'ilist was formed in 2010 by vocalist/guitarist and bassist Philippe Tougas and drummer Philippe Boucher (also of notorious Canadian tech/death metal wizards Beyond Creation) with the sole intent to play abhorrent, morbid, atmospheric, brutal, technical death metal with over-the-top guitar shredding. Five years after unleashing an impressive demo Chthe'ilist now releases its debut full-length. It contains seven massive tracks influenced by Finland's old-school death-metal scene (f.i. Crematory, Abhorrence, Demilich, early Xysma) and bands s.a. Pestilence, Nocturnus, Timeghoul and Ripping Corpse.
