Popis - LIVE HEAT 68.. [LTD]:
Live Heat '86-Reno, Nevada (Limited Edition)
There are always special shows in the lives of classic rock bands like Canned Heat. With major billing in major events like Woodstock and other important venues, their blues and boogie roots were truly appreciated in this one time intimate setting captured in Reno from the mid 80’s. Canned Heat’s Live Heat ’86- Reno, Nevada includes stellar renditions of their hit tracks like Goin’ Up The Country, Harley Davidson Blues and Rollin’ And Tumblin’ as well as classic interpretations like Al Green’s Take Me To The River and Robert Johnson’s Sweet Home Chicago. While recently discovering this original mono recording in his Canned Heat archives, Fito de la Parra noted “This is probably the only ever recording of this short lived era of the band. ” For instance, the late Ronnie Barron is featured with his scorching rare performance of his Paul Butterfield hit I Broke My Baby’s Heart. “Jam bands” began with groups like Canned Heat. Therefore it’s no surprise to hear the wonderful workouts by dual guitarists the late great Henry Vestine and James Thornbury on tunes like Bullfrog Blues, Built For Comfort, Trouble No More and the stunning 20 minute show closer Shake ‘N’ Boogie. The track features an incredible bass workout from Larry Taylor, Fito de la Parra’s smashing drum solo and a blazing Henry Vestine guitar boogie which ends the night on a high note. Rumored for decades, Relayer Friday Music is honored to present another exciting installment in our Canned Heat Original Live Series with the groundbreaking Live Heat ’86-Reno, Nevada.
