Popis - KINGSTON TOWN:
From the Parisian Olympia to the Francofolies of Montreal, and some concerts for the Reggae Months in Kingston, musicians from Broussaï demonstrate (since 10 years) that they can set fire to any stage. The incredible relation established between them and their public made journalists state that Broussaï is a genuine live group. Known today as one of the most important French reggae formations, Broussaï traveled to Jamaica in February to discover the sacred land of reggae music and record a fourth album. 'Kingston Town' was produced in the Harry J Studio (Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Dennis Brown...) with the precious support of Sam Clayton (Toots & The Maytals) and Stephen Stewart (Burning Spear). These Frenchies recruited highly rated names like Boppe (Peter Tosh's guitarist), Daniel Axeman Thompson (U-Roy) or Uziah 'Sticky' Thompson who played percussion for Bob Marley. On the 'Live Up' track, David Hinds and Selwyn Brown, Steel Pulse's legendary founders, lend their voices for a unique rendezvous with this excellent French group. A superb reggae release!
To note also Ishmel McAnuff's participation on 'Rebel Music' and the one of charismatic Bro Mystic Revelation of Rastafari leaders. Unique meetings which are proving the Broussaï capacity in make travel their music and share their passion for reggae music with the most highs! A mix of cultures and knowledge which are giving to Broussaï real roots sound inspired by Jamaican vintage sonorities to make resound the subtle texts of the group. After more than 500 dates in all Europe, it's on Jamaica's island that Broussaï offered this year an explosive show on some of the greatest stages in Kingston! A very important experience for that young musicians who reached to look below the linguistic divides offering an engaged and reflective music to a public who need novelty. Even the Jamaican television was charmed and made Broussaï the first French group to be on television in the island. Since ten years and the creation of the group, 3 albums were released and a DVD live Broussaï continues to cross the roads with a fourth opus and the strong urge to communicate energy, strong and hope! The group is seducing us again with their conscious lyrics and their dynamic instrumentals. Broussaï states clearly their worldwide attentive and open vision. 'Kingston Town' with that roots vibrations sounds like an hymn to life which can be nice or not, Broussaï will always defend it!
