Popis - IRONIC TRUTH:
Albuminfo 25 years since THE ROXX' foundation. Two years since the last album. Two years time for Billy Itch, to be again mad enough at the world to fill another booklet with scathing irony. Which clearifies the album title IRONic TRUTH: It's about the „iron“ truth in words and music – with a subtle irony! Tailor-made for the extrovert singer's mood is the „Metal“ frame. Brute riffs by new guitar player Bernd Intveen, Fred Sudden's straight driving beat, and an angry bass by … ; who the hell is Chilli Beanham??? If - while bawling the catchy tunes - you missed some of THE ROXX' typical details (like the blessed pope live), or the „non-metal“ contributions of violin, bagpipe or oriental saz … listening twice to THE ROXX has never been amiss ... The Limited DoubleCD Edition contains an additional LiveCD, packed in two screwed metalplates, signed and numbered. Only available at www.rockville-music.com . THE ROXX Biography THE ROXX were founded in 1984, in the age of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. Besides a classic combination of heavy guitar riffs and catchy vocal harmonies, THE ROXX stand out for being passionately keen on experimenting. Heavy Metal by THE ROXX frequently absorbs „non-metal“ components, like soundsamples, synthesizers, strings or oriental instruments. THE ROXX played duetts with a dixieland band or a rapper. Catchy hooks sniggle the listener, before the unexspected scares him. In addition, the lyrics come with provocing irony between the lines. Together with elaborate live-performances, THE ROXX were quickly branded as „Heavy Metal Exotics“. THE ROXX' first album Sugar And Spice was released 1986, packed in plastic bubble foil. Basically unthinkable in the 80ies, the album got by without any guitarsolo! The tracks On The Roxx and Boy Bitch became discotheque hits, and THE ROXX heroes of the Munich Heavy Metal scene. The second album Watch Us Cum was released in 1988. The „syntie-meets-heavy“ track Dream Griper gained again discotheque rotation. And THE ROXX liveshows became more and more manic. E.g. the drummer used only one cymbal (and placed it behind his head!), and the android-like guitar player's head exploded during the show. THE ROXX' future looked quite promising, when all of a sudden guitar player Animale (alias Hermann Janowitz, former guitarrist of Munich's other renowned Heavrock band RAILWAY) died during the recording sessions of the third album Chills Down Your Spine. THE ROXX mastermind Billy Itch found Alex Gaitanides. Chills Down Your Spine was never released. Instead the two albums Sex & Roxx & Rock'n Roll (Part I and Part II) came out in 1990. A heavy version of the popular Wild Thing was released on vinyl EP, packed in a pizza cardboard. The next album came in 1992, titled No Sole Messiah. The dixieland band HOT DOGS played duett with THE ROXX, with clarinet and banjo. The livealbum Wild Things Live was released 1994. THE ROXX recorded Dominator, supposed to be released 1995. But the spirit of the time had changed into Grunge and Hip Hop. The band decided that time was not ripe for Dominator. The album was never released. THE ROXX took an 11-year break. The sequel took place in 2006. The show was a typical THE ROXX show, a provocating and complex arranged performance, released on the DVD The Roxx Unleash The Demon. Liveshows in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Chech Republic and Swizerland took place. 2008 THE ROXX present the double CD compilation History Decade One 1984-1994, containing 30 tracks. The new album IRONic TRUTH comes 2009, in the year of 25th THE ROXX anniversary, presenting the new guitar player Bernd Intveen.
