A debut album for the Italian band “ Monkey Business”. The whole project goes straight forward to the Street Rock of the middle 80’s.In a time where the global Metal scene seems to be mostly dominated by Power and Black Metal bands,Monkey Business wants to remind you all where the roots of today’s Metal come from.The influence that mostly characterized the sound of the album comes from bands such as: Guns‘n’Roses, Skid Row as well as much more melodic atmospheres inspired by great bands like Journey, the band wanted to make a tribute to it by including a version of “Separate Ways”. The in 2001 born Italian band Monkey Business is influenced by everything that even smells of melodic rock & street metal. Bands like Skid Row, Tyketto & even Journey are no strangers to these guys. Listen to the quite good rendition of ‘Separate Ways’ (Journey) to hear some sounds seemingly long forgotten. What's more, with MB we finally have another band that doesn’t shy away from those great & magnificent rock ballads as there are a couple to be found on this platter. Listen to ‘I Smell The Perfume’ & ‘Child Inside’ to catch my drift. As is common with our Italian friends the production is not always top notch, but don’t let that spoil the fun. (KVK)
