Popis - RAGE OF DISCIPLINE -EP-:
Righteous Jams front man Joey C. (Stop and Think) first met guitarist Elgin Nathan James (Wrecking Crew, 454 Big Block) in the midst of a robbery. Boston hardcore was at its most divided with a new wave of 'posi' kids who felt more allegiance with In My Eyes and Ten Yard Fight than the older Boston guard who held tightly to the hard line stance of Boston straight edge founders SSD. While Elgin and company beat up and robbed Joey C.'s friends that night in Boston's Kenmore Square, no one would have predicted that the two would later lead one of the most exciting and intense hardcore bands of today. They wouldn't officially meet until a couple years later (and under friendlier circumstances) and find that although they may have come from different worlds, they had more in common than you would think. As well as being straight edge, they both viewed hardcore as the culture they were raised on; hardcore was their nationality, family and religion. They also both prescribed to an intense lifestyle of self betterment and self discipline. In 2004, with a friendship fully forged, Joey asked Elgin to join his newly formed band 'Righteous Jams.' Together they blueprinted a band that would tear down the barriers of the now much cliqued hardcore scene and take straight edge out of the hands of nerdy record collectors and back to the kids. As Joey C. put it, 'the blood and guts of the wolfpack with an iron edge.' The band was rounded out by a diverse group, including Hare Krishna 'Dancefloor Justin' (Mental, Stand Accused, Wrong Side) on drums, long time scene stalwart Chris 'Cooch' Minicucci (Close Call, R 'n' R) on bass, and one of Elgin's fellow gang members Paul Deschamps (A Poor Excuse) on second guitar. The word spread immediately on a demo tape that had kids all over America, Canada and Europe singing along to every word. Their vinyl full length 'Rage of Discipline' sold out in just a few weeks before making it into a single store. You couldn't have chosen five more different people to unite for one goal. It's a volatile mix, but one that works, as can be seen at any Righteous Jams live show.
