FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NOW IS THE TIME FOR MICHAEL ABBOUD Singer songwriter Michael Abboud is no stranger to the music industry. Aside from composing music all his life, Michael’s history also involved running some of Australia’s and Los Angeles’ most infamous clubs (LA’s Backstage with biz partner Ian Copeland) that catered to the music industry’s elite. Michael often found himself on stage or in a studio in the wee hours performing alongside diverse talents such as Slash, the Gypsy Kings, Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, Sting and Snoop Dog. A former Chadwicks model, Michael always had music as his #1 passion, and from an early age was writing music for Warner Chappel, peermusic, Jimmy Cliff, Sony Tompson (The James Brown Syndicate) and other international artists. In the late 90’s he released his debut EP “So Far Away” which received APRA nominations as well as the film clip winning the Silver Award for the Australian Cinematographers Society. Enter 2008 – it’s been a long time coming, and Australia can now look forward to Michael’s new release “Time” due out October 11. “Time” was produced by Murray Burns from Mi-Sex and is distributed by MGM. The music draws comparisons to Cat Stevens and Jack Johnson, and is a testament to his talent, maturity and class in his musicianship. Michael’s home in Byron Bay is nestled on a tranquil and lush hill overlooking sugar cane fields where you can hear the waves crashing in the distance. This vision truly represents the natural, down-to-earth beauty of both the man himself, and his music.
