Maybe it's not commonly known that Alessandro Alessandroni, the Master of Italian library music, also composed several scores for '60s, '70s and '80s "genre" movies including poliziotteschi, sexy comedies, spaghetti westerns, horror movies and thrillers. Among these, 'Sangue Di Sbirro' ('Bloody Avenger') is certainly one of the most prestigious works. This flick is an Italian film noir set in Philadelphia, in which the maestro's jazz-funk background meets deep soul and black music. The sounds and arrangements are typical for blaxploitation movies (including an original reinterpretation of 'Shaft's Theme'), but with a proud Italian touch.
